Chocolate Lowers Cholesterol Not Sure

Many consider the eating chocolate can lower cholesterol levels.However, it can be experienced by the few. A study conducted by Dr.. Rutai Hui of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences andPeking Union Medical College, China, and colleagues stated thatchocolate only help people who are at risk of heart disease and is applicable only when consumed in moderation.

Hui and colleagues seek medical records to find a study thatexamines how chocolate affects blood lipids in 215 people. The study found that eating chocolate reduces levels of bad cholesterol to 5 mg. Further analysis shows only people who eat a little chocolate, which contains 260 mg or less polyhenols,experiencing the impact of cholesterol reduction. People whoconsume more do not show such effects.

These studies also found no effect of eating chocolate in a healthy person. It is precisely those with risk factors of heart disease, diabetes, cholesterol dropped to around 8 mg.
